PILOTLOG

Pilots and Cabin Crew at RYANAIR, BUZZ and MALTA AIR can import flight data as follows:

Planned Roster

  • CrewDock (off-line OCR):  import your planned roster from CrewDock

This solution is more convenient for the calendar roster app CrewLounge CONNECT and is also available to cabin crew. Read more about the various functions (such as Roster Share, Chat) of CrewLounge CONNECT on the website (here).

Select the CrewDock OCR interface from the desktop or mobile app Settings - Airline Interface page. Continue reading (here).

Historical Data

  • Netline (off-line):   download your flying history from the crewroom terminals

Download your historical data from the crewroom terminal as PDF, and import the PDF with CrewLounge PILOTLOG.

Select the Netline/Crewlink interface from the desktop or mobile app Settings - Airline Interface page.  Share your PDF with the CrewLounge PILOTLOG app, or upload your PDF through My CrewLounge (here).

  • PilotApp (efb):  import your "Verified Flights" email

Pilots can import the company EFB emails straight into CrewLounge PILOTLOG. Follow the instructions indicated below.

PilotApp EFB

Every month, we process thousands of EFB emails for Ryanair pilots.  Flight data from the Ryanair PilotApp goes straight into your personal pilot logbook with a few clicks of the button.

Ryanair does not allow the installation of 3rd party apps on the company iPad. Install the CrewLounge PILOTLOG app on your personal device (iOS / Android).

 CHANGE - 21 JULY 2021

If you were previously using the EFB Inbox email method, you must no longer forward your emails to CrewLounge EFB.  Instead, use the new method as explained below!

Getting Started

On your personal mobile device, configure the CrewLounge PILOTLOG app as follows:

1) on the Settings - Airline page, select the new interface PilotApp EFB for Ryanair

  • there are separate interfaces for Buzz, Malta Air and Ryanair

2) on the same Settings - Airline page in the Import Events section, make sure that Historical Data is turned On for Flights (and Duty - optional - as desired)

  • if you run our apps on multiple devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, PC) then verify the settings on ALL your devices (just to make sure that everything got synched)

3) on the Pilot List page, edit pilot SELF and insert your company 6-letter code as Employee ID.

  • if your code is already taken by another pilot in your database, then carry-out the following clean-up procedure:

SELF and My Name showing double

4) on the Settings - Flight Logging page, select "Airline interface / EFB" for AUTO LOAD TASK

  • this setting is needed to retrieve PF/PM from the EFB data

  iOS

If your personal device is iOS (iPhone, iPad), then proceed as follows:

On the company iPad

1) Open the EFB email and Select All the content

2)  Press "Share" and AirDrop the content to your personal iOS device:

On your personal iOS device

3)  Upon receiving the AirDrop data, press "Open with... PILOTLOG"  (if PILOTLOG does not appear in the list, you must download the latest update from the iTunes App Store)

4)  The CrewLounge PILOTLOG app opens.  Press CONVERT to process the EFB file (this step requires internet connection and cannot be done off-line).

That's it!

  Android

If your personal device is Android, then proceed as follows:

On the company iPad

1) Open the EFB email and Select All the content

2)  Press "Copy

3) Open the Safari browser and navigate to your favorite file-transfer webpage

Read more about file transfer from iOS to Android (here)

For this demo, we are using SnapDrop.net

Open the same file-transfer page on your personal Android device
(or open the file-transfer app, if installed)

Both devices (company iPad + Android device) must be connected to the same WiFi network. As soon as the devices find each-other, a blue icon with a nickname shows on the display.

Note:  this step does not require internet connection, only the WiFi network is used.  Your files are not uploaded to any cloud server. The transmission is peer-to-peer, similar to blue-tooth data sharing.

4) Paste your EFB data in the file-transfer page, and press the SEND button

For SnapDrop, you would tap-long and then paste the text inside the text field, as shown in this video

On your personal Android device

5)  Upon receiving the EFB data, "Select All" the content

6) Press "Shareand choose PILOTLOG

8)  The CrewLounge PILOTLOG app opens.  Press CONVERT to process the EFB file (this step requires internet connection and cannot be done off-line).

That's it!

Batch Import

You can adapt this method and work in batches, as follows:

1) After your flight, on the company iPad, press "Share - Save to Files".

To avoid iOS from overwriting previous files, you can rename the filename "text" into something else, like "efb_20210719".

2) You can save a bunch of files, and then go with AirDrop / Snapdrop after a month.  Share the files with your personal device and "Share" the files with to CrewLounge PILOTLOG .
